The Food Technology department at St Mary’s Anglican School is creating a circular economy in the classroom, through the diversion of food waste from landfills and back to their soils. This initiative not only addresses the pressing issue of waste management but also educates students on the impact of food waste, instilling a sense of responsibility toward the environment. By implementing the Eco 5, the school has transformed food scraps into valuable fertiliser, fostering a culture of sustainability within the school community.

Following the launch of the Eco 5 in Australia last year, enrich360 set out to tackle food waste in classrooms armed with a new tool for students and teachers; the enrich360 EcoSchools Program. Exploring a wide variety of curriculum subjects, the EcoSchools Program is packed with Lesson Plans and resources to teach and implement sustainable practices in the classroom, complemented by the enrich360 Eco 5 Benchtop unit.
